The Challenge
Mt. Calvary came to us with many issues deeply rooted in their cemetery. For starters, they had lots of missing records. These missing records came from disaster, wear and tear, and unfortunately embezzlement. They had a cemetery manager at one point taking people's money, burying individuals in random locations, and pocketing the money. This lead to major errors in the cemetery records, with all kinds of missing information.
Our Process
We started this project as we always do, going on-site to meet with the manager. They had an excel sheet that they were using for years, and paper maps displaying the lots of the cemetery. While on-site, we walked the cemetery headstone for headstone, and flew our drone to capture an aerial image. While specifically in the old section of the cemetery, we worked hard to decipher the names on the dilapidated stones. They were lacking records for this portion of the cemetery especially.

When we got back to the offices, we began putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Using their maps, our on-site data, the drone image, and the excel sheet, we started mapping the cemetery. We were able to cross reference what we found on the ground with their excel sheet and adjust any misplaced burials. We were also able to added the missing burials that we found out in the cemetery, into the new spreadsheet.

Mt. Calvary now has an up to date and accurate cemetery mapping software. They are able to sell plots without
